Akela’s Updates

The following items were discussed at the Pack meeting that was held last night (5-16-2011). I will try to provide this type of update for your use and so that people that were not at the meeting will have the same information.

Dates/ activities discussed

· Friday May 20^th -Kids night at Marlborough Congregational Church. Geared toward 2nd through 6th grades. 6-9pm includes pizza, snack, ice cream sundaes, punch. Age appropriate movies, games, and more. A remake of Teen Night for the younger set! Drop off the kids and have a nice dinner out with your spouse!

The cost of the night is $15.00 and Reservations are required. Please contact Maggie Hannon at (margaret.hannon@sbcglobal.net) with your reservation… number of kids, times if not 6 to 9, etc.

· Sunday June 12^th – Pack Cook-out. Location to be determined, we are currently working on having food donated… update with needed items, location, and times will follow… watch your e-mails

· Sunday June 26^th - CABELA's Scout Family Fun Fair – 11:00 through 4:00 at Cabela’s in East Hartford– Please follow the link for Informational flyer (http://www.ctrivers.org/openrosters/DocDownload.aspx?id=95264)

· July 24^th through 29^th- Pack week at summer camp. There is still time to sign up (early bird sign up deadline has passed). If you are interested in sending your boy, please contact Michael Steinbrecher at (mike.steinbrecher@yahoo.com). Parents are welcome to attend with their boys… needs to be coordinated through Michael as well.

· August 13 – Kick off Picnic – We will hold a family fun day/ planning meeting in August to plan the next year. We are hoping for a great turn-out. Cub Scouting is a yearlong experience for your boys and requires planning and input from all families… Please mark this date on your Calendar… Additional details such as times, locations, and what you need to bring will follow as plans are firmed up.
