Akela's Update - November 2014

Post date: Nov 13, 2014 3:40:50 AM

Well its November already! Can you believe it? Has everyone recovered from the wet cold Halloween night? We have a lot going on this month. If you have not already we need a commitment and payment A.S.A.P for our Mystic Aquarium sleep over. It will be April11-12 and cost $60 per person. We need to sign up soon. Next Sat November 8th is the adult leader Pow-Wow training being held at East Windsor High school. There are lots of great classes being held. Check it out online at www.ctrivers.org.

The Pack Hike will be held on the 16th at the Devils Hopyard state park. There will be a parent/leader meeting on the 24th in the Cafe, come and be a part of the planning and have your voice heard. The Weblos will be having a camp out with the Boy Scout troop on the 21st-23rd. This will give our Weblos a taste of what the Troop does and get them more excited about crossing over. Speak with Tom or Kelly, the Weblos Den leaders for more info.

Our next Can/Bottle Drive will be on Jan 10th. I know its a ways off but remind all your friends and family to hold on to those bottles and cans over the holidays (they are right around the corner).

We had a great Showing for the Blish park clean up sponsored by LL Bean. Some of our boys completed and earned their Outdoor Ethics Award. We found everything from water pipes to basket balls in the woods and also collected some bottles and cans for our drive.

Our December Pack meeting will be on Dec 8th and it will be a fun night of skits and songs put on by each Den and also a Cookie swap (YUM)! Remember we have some severe peanut allergies in the pack.

Class B T-shirts are available: $10 a piece.

www.pack39.com is our website. Make sure to check there for any changes in the calendar or events. Also like us on FaceBook at Cub Scout Pack 39.
