Akela's Newsletter Feb 8th, 2015

This Month has been off to a snowy start. I hope all have been enjoying this wonderful white that New England gives us. Its one of the reasons I moved back to CT but I could use a little less interference with our Cub Pack plans. Today is the Blue & Gold banquet. We are celebrating Cub Scouting's Birthday. This years theme for the tables is Around the World in 5 Dens. We are going to enjoy some great food and entertainment. Our older boys from the Arrow of Light Den will be getting their Arrow of light in a small Ceremony given by our very own Todd Gianetti. The Arrow of Light is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn. The patch is allowed on your Boy Scout uniform and also later on your adult leader uniform. This is a great accomplishment for our boys. Relax and enjoy the day.

We have a lot coming up this next month. This coming Friday the 13th is our Pack Movie night. Come in PJs if you wish, bring your pillow and blanket to the Cafe at 6:30. The movie is still in the works but we are trying for a really good one that was just released... The next day after that the 14th will be our can and bottle sorting day since it was so cold on the drive day. 9-11 in the garage right after the bowling alley on Bear Swamp RD (dirt road) in East Hampton ( its heated). Thursday the 26th we are having a combo Pinewood Derby Workshop run by Mike Steinbrecher starting at 6pm followed by a leadership meeting starting at 7pm. The 7th of March we will be setting up the Pinewood Derby track after 4:30 so it will be ready to go in the morning. (we will be done in time for the PTO Mardi Gras) If you are interested in helping with set up and learning how the race goes please let me know. As always any questions or concerns please contact me. Lets enjoy these times with our boys because they grow so fast!

Class B T-shirts are available: $10 a piece.
